How can I get an application for admission?

     Applicants can find most information about our graduate programs and application materials on the Website. Applicants can choose either the "Apply Online" method to apply electronically or the "Download Application" method to print out the application and mail to the Graduate School Office.

     If the above options are not available, applicants can fill out the Request for Application Form to receive a Graduate Application Package. The Graduate School Office at Arkansas Tech University will send the application package to the requested address between seven to ten days.



Is there an application fee?

     There is a $25.00 one-time, non-refundable application fee for applications received after May 15, 2008. The application fee must be paid prior to admission to the Graduate School. Below is a list of accepted methods of payment:

  1. Cash (USD only)
  2. Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover)
    Please include the following information: credit card number, expiration date, V-Code (3-digit number on the back of the credit card)
  3. Money Orders, Cashier Checks or Personal Checks
    Please make payable to ATU Graduate School.



If I must reapply do I have to pay the application fee again?

      No. The application fee is a one-time fee except in the case of people with a master's degree applying for the Educational Specialist.



When is an application deadline?

     Priority deadline dates for fall and spring admission are March 1 and October 1 respectively. These deadlines will ensure consideration for admissions and assistantships. Students who do not meet thses deadlines, may submit necessary credentials for admission up to two weeks in advance of the initial date of enrollment.




What materials are required for admission?

     Please refer to the Admission Checklist on Admission Information Webpage for a complete list of all materials required by the Graduate School.


How can I find out my application status?

     Applicant can contact the Graduate School Office at (497) 968-0398 or e-mail to Ms. Shanel Smith at sperrin@atu.edu to determine the application status.


What is a minium TOFEL score to be admitted to the program?

     Applicant must receive a minimum score of 550 on a paper based test or 213 on a computer based test to be admitted to the program. Detailed language proficiency requirements can be found at International Students Webpage .


What is a minimum G.P.A. score to be admitted to the program?

     Please see each department's G.P.A requirement for admission.


Does Arkansas Tech University offer on-line/evening/weekend graduate courses?

     Yes. Arkansas Tech University offers some graduate courses through web based on-line courses. The College Student Personnel program is available totally on-line. Please see Crabaugh Communication Center for more information. Arkansas Tech University also offers evening and weekend graduate courses.




Does Arkansas Tech University offers student health insurance?

     Yes. The Health Service at Arkansas Tech University offers student health insurance. Students who do not have hospital insurance policies may enroll in a basic policy which the University offers through a private agency. For more information, please contact at (479) 968-0329.




Where can I find out about on-campus housing information?

     Detailed information regarding on-campus housing can be found at Student Servises Residence Life Webpage.


Where can I get information on GRE test?

     Information on GRE test such as a test location, time table, administative procedure, and cost can be found at www.gre.org .
